“Beauty school” is a broad term that can refer to any institution offering training in hair, skin, or nail services, while “cosmetology school” specifically prepares students for licensure in full-service cosmetology. Functionally they’re the same thing. The technical name is simply… “cosmetology.” Most students looking to pursue both an education and career in the beauty industry require a cosmetology license. Although every state is different. With our consulting (prior to any sign up) we’ll help guide you through which program(s) make the most sense for your goals. Cosmetology school typically includes comprehensive training in hair design, skincare, nails, and makeup, while a beauty school might focus on a single specialty like esthetics or barbering. If you want a full range of beauty education and the credentials to work in salons, spas, or on your own, enrolling in a licensed cosmetology program is the best path.
